I enjoyed Akiko and the Journey to Toog because I had read another by Mark Crilly, Billy Creech Creach Catcher, which I liked a lot, but I enjoyed this book more!!!
Akiko, an Earth girl, has a few friends who live in different galaxies. One day her friends come to Earth and say, “Poog is in trouble.” These four words send Akiko and her friends on an adventure of untold dangers.
One part that’s particularly exciting is where Akiko, Spuckler, Poog, Mr. Beeba, and their Tri–yarm friend travel inside the core eater and the friendly Tri-yarm tricks the elite guard into letting them inside the control room to shutdown the core eater and save the planet Toog. They find out that Poog’s great uncle, who was supposed to have been killed by a group of Tri-yarms, is behind this whole thing !!!
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes falling into a fantastic adventure with made-up beings and a lot of fun.
