Attention to all romance, animal lovers and magic fans! Tokyo Mew Mew is the manga series for you. It starts off about an average 13 year-old school girl, named Ichigo Momomiya, who thinks she’s normal, until one day she gets her DNA mysteriously mixed up with that of an endangered animal giving her super powers and different image. She soon learns that she and four more girls, Mint Aizawa, Lettuce Midorikawa, Zakuro Fuijwara and Pudding Fong, are the chosen ones destined to protect Earth from the aliens, Tart, Pie, Kisshu and their mysterious leader Deep Blue, who wants to take over Earth. The aliens have the power to turn any creature into Chimera Anima, which are monsters.
The Mew girls work at Café Mew Mew, which is secretly the Tokyo Mew Mew’s Headquarters, owned by Ryou and Keiichiro. They have to balance school, homework, social lives, love lives, family, friends and, now, the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!. That’s a lot to care about! To make matters even worse for Ichigo, she has to find out if her crush, Masaya Aoyama, likes her back.
I really recommend this book to girls and possibly boys too.
The Tokyo Mew Mew series is set in different places, such as France, Mew Mew à la Mode, Canada, Mew Mew Power, Italy, Mew Mew: Amicce Vincenti, and maybe more. Overall these books are amazing!

I’m a new convert to manga. I struggle to process the text and read the images at the same time. But this sounds like a great read! I love your passion for this genre, Sezen! I hope you’ll review other great examples of manga!
