My Arctic 1, 2, 3 by Michael Arvaarluk Kusugak

My Arctic 1, 2, 3 is a counting book that celebrates the creatures of sea and land that inhabit the Arctic, the beauty of the tundra, and the Inuit who claim the region as their home.  From polar bears on the hunt, to siksiks alert to the presence of Arctic foxes, to fishermen repairing a stone fishing weir, to hundreds of caribou migrating in the Spring, this book opens a window onto the Arctic.
Kusugak’s forward about growing up in Repulse Bay, and the afterward, entitled “The Arctic World of Michael Kusugak and His Family”, transform this book into a touching and thoughtful personal memoir.  My Arctic 1, 2, 3 is beautifully illustrated by Vladyana Krykorka.
Quite simply, this book is magical!
